Yuni Aaron Draws— Politics 2020

In the beginning of the quarantine, I started to draw, in a way to express the frustration I felt while watching the country I love becoming divided at the most important and critical time in our history. Black Lives Matter, the #Me Too movement, the health care crisis, anti-immigration sentiments, rising pay and wealth inequality, voter suppression and many more unsettling issues have come to a head under an unprecedented lock-down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all without sane leadership. I want to contribute in some way to help organizations that are working hard to heal the world. I am donating 100% of the profit from selling this book to those nonprofit organizations that promote democratic and environmental causes. Yuni Aaron Draws— Life Under Quarantine

I could not escape the undeniable irony of shopping online for the most mundane items such as toilet paper and Clorox wipes, to no avail; stocking up on cans of beans as if we are preparing for the world to end; and huddling together inside, rejecting the outside world because of the virus we can’t seem to eradicate. I observed and drew moments in life where sometimes truth was truly stranger than fiction. Sometimes, the “new normal” was too hard to comprehend. Drawing them was cathartic and sharing them with the world lightened the discomfort of the situation. Friends and family with whom I shared these, encouraged me to produce this book.
